Job Summary The candidate will take part in performing experiments, analyzing results, and reporting the observation of the NIH-funded tumor immunology research project. He/she will be working together with the PI and other lab personnel as a team for the successful completion of the project. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform and clearly document experimental procedures and results under the supervision of the PI and other staff scientists in compliance with the scientific standard to ensure integrity and reproducibility. Assists the PI with manuscript preparation: Performs experiments following established protocols under limited supervision of the PI and or senior staff scientist. Performs routine immunology and molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to high dimensional flow cytometry analysis, histology and immunohistochemistry staining, and microscopic image acquisition and analysis. Discusses with the PI/senior staff scientist or collaborators regarding data analysis, interpretations, summaries of experimental data, and maintain a well-documented record of experiments, original and analyzed data. Takes the initiative to troubleshoot technical issues associated with experimental protocol, modify existing experimental protocol, and develop new protocols to meet the needs of new research projects and maintains a protocol database. Facilitates the PI with the laboratory management and administrative duties: Assists the PI with new lab member orientation, student training and instructions of basic laboratory operation. Manages and maintains the experimental mice colonies for his/her own use and/or communicate timely and effectively with the lab manager for additional needs of experimental animals. Participate in the journal club and research in progress seminars as well as those for career development training. Other Duties: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Ph.D. or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Immunology, or Biological Sciences, or Bioengineering. Preferred Qualifications MD preferably with research experiences in an immunology or molecular biology labs. Demonstrated research experience in immunology and/or molecular biology with quality publications is desired. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge and skills in the field of Immunology and molecular biology, preferably in the context of tumor immunology and immunotherapy. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
