Pegan Laboratory – Post-Doctoral Researcher - Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever
Position Description
Postdoctoral scholar with competitive salaries and benefits are available immediately in the lab of Scott D. Pegan, PhD at the University of California, Riverside. The individual filling this new position will assist in my federally funded related projects in conjunction with our federal and academic partners. These projects seek to develop new vaccines and monoclonal antibody therapeutics for viruses that cause Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever and other emerging viruses. Our primary approach is to understand the molecular mechanisms these viruses utilize to circumvent host immunity and translate that knowledge for therapeutic benefit. Cryo-EM SPA, X-ray crystallography, biochemical characterizations, mammalian cell culture as well as other drug discovery and biophysical techniques are the main research techniques for these studies.

The laboratory is housed in the state-of-the-art School of Medicine Research Building.
Requirements
PhD or PhD/MD in structural biology, biochemistry, virology, or a related field. Competitive applicants will have at least one high-quality, first-author publication. Preferred applicants will have some structural biology experience.
Salary Information
Salary will be based on University of California guidelines for the postdoctoral scholars and is commensurate with experience. These positions are fully funded by NIH grants.
